To provide students with the best possible training to obtain a quality entry-level position in the automotive field.
About Automotive Service Technology
NTI’s AST program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). Also, NTI’s AST courses lead to future certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence as an ASE-certified Automotive Technician in one or more areas of study.
Why Consider the AST field?
The AST program is for adult minded students who are willing to learn to their maximum ability. Students who fail one course may be dismissed from the program. Student who display bad attitudes or behavioral problems can be dismissed from the program at any time. This opportunity for select students is a fact track to a career in automotive, all training is about modern automotive technology.
AST has an attendance policy that states. Any student who misses 10% of the training hours for a course has failed that course. There are no excused absences. A form to be used for a professional development absence is available. This form can cover your attendance for job interviews, school activities, and other professional reasons, if the form is completed and submitted before the absence. Any special circumstances will be reviewed by AST faculty.

Objectives
To provide students with a basic knowledge of automotive tools and equipment. To instruct students in proper troubleshooting and repair techniques. To introduce students to the daily duties of an automotive shop. To provide students with a basic knowledge of all automotive systems. To introduce students to the scientific principles involved in automotive systems.
Length of Program: Two Semesters and One Summer Term
