The Northwest Technical Institute Bookstore/Learning Resource Center now has an ample supply of Chromebooks and others items available to its students.
LRC Manager Alan Thompson said the Chromebooks, along with four laptops, books and magazines, can be checked out during regular school hours (7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.) five days a week for five-day increments. Students fill out a form complete with their student ID number to check out items.
The technology is to be used for school work such as writing papers or accessing codes for a variety of class textbooks.
The Lock and Charge box also includes two iPads, a camcorder and webcam. The LRC also has four desktop computers and other desks for reading.
Electronic students often use the printer in the LRC to print off homework. Surgical Technology students use LRC equipment to write and print essays and research papers.
The LRC also has textbooks for classes at NWTI, as well as headgear and other supplies for welding students.
“Pretty much anything needed for any of our classes is in here,” Thompson said.
School memorabilia is available at the LRC, including T-shirts, tumblers and hats. The Bookstore/LRC is located in Room 126 of the main building.
