HVAC Certification Program

Northwest Technical Institute’s HVAC/R (Refrigeration) program prepares students to install, repair, and replace HVAC systems.

Topics covered include:

  • Refrigeration theory and application 

  • Installation/service of furnace and air conditioning

  • Controls and low voltage electrical

  • Air flow and load calculations

At the end of the second semester, students will take the EPA Universal 608 certification exam.  

Modern Welding For Industry

Modern Welding For Industry

This course is deigned to train students in welding basics through intermediate welding techniques. Students will learn safety, proper use of welding tools and equipment, metallurgy, blueprint reading, and layout.

Welding processes covered include gas tungsten arc welding (TIG), shielded metal arc welding (stick), gas metal arc welding (MIG), oxyacetylene cutting, welding and brazing, and plasma cutting.

At the completion of each year, students will have the opportunity to earn an AWS (American Welding Society) certification.
